Whats wrong with the standard gauge?
The oil sender unit is located just above the oil pump. Bolts into the block and looks like a small tin can. I've updated my sl to sle dash and used the vk sender unit the gauge works fine.

I used to get a brass T-piece and run both the gauge sender and the warning light sender...

you can't have any pressurised flammables in the cabin so you use electric gauges, mechanical often sit on the out side on the bonnet

Yep thats it yobbo go to the wreckers and ask for a vk/black motor one there a lot bigger than the vh (low pressure light) ones then run a wire from the sender unit to the back of the dash

Don't know about in QLD but in VIC you can run mechanical gauges in the cabin.

My mechanical one works pretty good, i got the right bits all with it. I just suggest copper pipe , its better then plastic and doesn't get hot.
