Default Megasquirt would it work on efi 202?

a mate said to have a look at these megasquirt diy kits. Basically i want to know peoples opinions on if it will work on a vk efi steup?
    Megasquirt

I was looking at the part where it says gm hei dizzys and wonder what kind the 202 (blue/ efi black) ones is. Ok i found something that says it might work but you need to get those 7 pin modules does anyone know where'd you'd get one?

Do you guys think its a good idea? i mean its cheap and would teach you a lot on how that sort of thing works

no reason why not. Just remember that the air-flow meter now becomes unnecesary, and for full benifit, the distributor will need to be locked (MS-II's can control ignition timing too). No other hardware will need to be changes, as the MS-II software can be re-written to suit just about anything. Remember you don't have a normal idle stepper motor on the EFI manifold, so idle will need to be adjusted with ignition timing, or an external stepper motor. Leaving the standard VK idle bypass (the one that gradually closes with time after startup) should be fine though.

Yeah thats good news ben because mainly later down the track heading for a turbo but more likely(cheaper) supercharger sc14 option . Being cheap and having the 2.5 bar map sensor would save me a lot on buying a ecu like wolf or autronic.

    just found this too
    # There is an output control signal (current sink up to 500ma) designed to drive an idle bypass solenoid (open/close solenoid, not a stepper), which allows the addition of more air at idle during warmup. The activation/deactivation temperature is set by the user.

There are no haltech for $800 minimum is about $1000 according to thier website (i looked at it a while ago) Plus the amount of extre needed to be purchased that are included in the megasquirt kitwould cost almost another 400. They sell megasquirt for about $300 fully assembled with extra for shipping. You'd lose all the fun and pride in saying i built my own motor built my ecu and tuned it myself. You might also be able to say i get x amount of horsepower.
I'm not knocking you dose pipe but I like to to do things myself and it gives me more satisfaction. Modding your car is an enjoyable hobby and more is more fun when you save yourself money
