Hi guy,s new user here so bare with me. I have a commodore vb 253 wich my father inlaw and myself race in speedway we have mated an early model 3 spd box on the 253 but are having major problems with getting enough out of the clutch to engage any gears. We were told to that the thrust bearing may be the wrong one from going to the early model box to using the cable operated clutch in the commodore. We were told that there was a longer thrust bearing and sleeve to be used in this setup but when going to order a another longer thrust bearing was told that they are the all the same size so can anyone shed some light on this any help is muchley appreciated so we can get back to racing thankyou
Have you checked the pivot ball adjustment for the clutch fork? You might need to wind it out a bit.
cheers

thankyou for taking the time to reply to this mystery. Every thing is adjusted right out to the max but still not enough pivot we first thought the clutch fork might have been bent not having another to go by then we were told that there was a longer thrust bearing wich would fix the problem but have been since told that there isnt one but not sure if a different model one that can be used thankyou cheers kym
