Default black 202 or red 202?

Hi guys, I have a small problem!! I can't decide on which to tickle(worked). The black 202 is in the car at the moment is stock. The red 202 is worked, but, it needs a rebuild. It's a xu-1 spec. She used to go hard.Or i can put a 253 red in the vk. The motor's for my VK sl which i just brought. So now i have 2 vk's.

Legally the only option is the black 3.3. They have many advantages over the earlier red motor but thats not to say that the red can't make good power.

Thanks mate, for the reply.I've been told that if i have blue 202 head and then stick it on the 202 black motor, I can put the EFI system on it that will give me more power. Of the the red motor it has a 500 holley on it. So which one should i choose?

the only difference between the blue and black heads is the air injection holes in the exh ports, but my experiance with the vk efi is that there thirsty and don't make much difference, but that is using the original vk puter gear, it could be a different story if you used an after-market system

blue 202's also have air injection ports but not all of them mine didnt have them. Best head to go is the black EFI head if youre want the best flowing. Though you can use your head you got now already on the motor
