Speedo problems?!

i just bought a new cluster for my VH everythin is working except the speedo. i think its the cable. i had to get one made up to run to a th700 box. any tips on how to test it and see whether its the cable or not?
i was told to watch if the cable inside turns, true?

Yeah pull your cluster out again at the back of the speedo look in the whole and its an allen key head. Put the same size allen key in a drill and run it in REVERSE TheSpeedo should climb up as normal if it does then the speedo works. It is then more than likely the speedo cable you might want to check that it is all the way into the cluster i know it can eb a pian to get in and it might not be. If the speedo doesnt work swap the old one over out of the old cluster
