Will an M20 out of a Torana or any Holden for that matter fit up to my blue 202? Are the shifters and bellhousings different?
Thanks,
Matt
They are they same i believe both are aussie/trimatic pattern so i see no reason why it wouldn't bolt up
6 cyl and V8 ones have different input shaft lengths. Also i THINK that pre-commodore shifters are on the wrong side or something compared to Commodore ones.
Cheers Tom
From memory the shifters from the earlier Holden's cam back on more of an angle than the commodore shifters.
WILL THE VK EVER MAKE IT BACK ON THE ROAD
the shifters are the same besides the commodore has an extra pin to stop the shifter jaming between 2nd and 3rd (i think thats right)
the differnt side linkages ur thinking of are with a trimatic
youll need a commodore bel housing and clutch fork as theyre different to the older style ones.
The blue motor has a slightly bigger flywheel and clutch than the red motor
Thanks for the info guys. It is currently running a tired Trimatic and I would like to convert it to a manual.
Always seems to be a few M20s floating around, but usually off Torana's and H? Holden's. I assume the easiest way is to find one off a VC-VK, that way everything bolts up?
Cheers,
Matt
the gearbox itself will fit no worries, you just need a commodore bellhousing/clutch fork
