K-frame 6 or 8?

What the differences in a 6cyl to a v8 k-frame? I've been told to change it if i want to put a wild V8 or a EFI motor in my VK?

Of couse the engine mounts are different, but the actual K frame isn't.

WRONG!!! sorry damo. the v8 k-frame has taller boxed engine mounts on the member. yes you do have to change them over when doing a conversion. if you don't you won't get it transport approved,and the right hand rocker cover touches the brake booster under accleration,among other misalignments. so to answer your question,yes they are different.

Well if they are different, why do they have the same part number?.

Also when i have look at them, VB-VK, 6 and V8 K frame, they are the same. Only ones are different are VL-VS V8 ones, different P/S mounts.
Even the experts know that.

The holden 6 and v8 should fit in the same mounts, allways did. You need to change the the K frame to go V6 or RB30 but Holden 6 to Holden 8 should be the same K frame

As sl/enut said the part numbers are the same for 6 and v8 k-frames from vb-vk models. I work next door to holden and went in to make sure i can bolt my v8 in. Its all good.

Thanks guys, for your replys. The k-frame thats in it had a 253 auto in between the struts.Just ask the question, cause i'm puttin in a wild V8 carby. I like the Ol' school.
