MY bosses VK Commo is at the local Tender Centre to be sold when today they rung us up to say that it wont start & its making this weird noise.
Anyway we go out & I turn it over & the noise sounds like the starter is not engaging in the ring gear or whatever. So I tap the starter & upon doing that I notice it was loose, but it wasnt just loose, it was about to fall out.
Anyway I tightend it up & it started fine.
Just before we took it out there the starter was VERY loud/noisey when you would turn it over. I wonder if it being loose had anything to do with that as now its nice & quite again.
I also wonder how the starter could work itself to be that loose? Hmmm....Something to think about....
I FRYED RICE!!!
yeah I had that problem on my torana 6. I just kept an eye on it, as you could only do the bolts up so tight.
that's not fair. i can't get mine out, yet you have one falling out!!
ECOTEC KICKED IN yO!!!!!!
Apparently it has a reco motor in it too so maybe it was never put back in tight enough......???
I FRYED RICE!!!
One of my mates had the same problem with his WB ute. It sounded like the starter wasn't engaging so he told me to get out and give the starter a hit. When i had a look , the starter was laying on the extractors because he had only put one bolt in it and it snapped the alloy housing away around the bolt.:Luckily it was a manual so we push started it.
