    Default diff woes

well took my newly aquired vc for a quick spin and heard this knocking coming from the rear end. have no idea what it is but thinkin its the diff cause only happens when the wheel is spinning. just wondering what a gc second handie diff is worth for a vc and does anyone know roughly what it would cost to get one fitted? also is it normal for only one wheel to spin when its up on stands? cheers

The knocking would most likely be a ball joint i recon,
A for should only one wheel spin, when you rotate one wheel the other should go backwards i THINK.

Oh if your accelerating i THINK thats right, but if u rotate one wheel by hand the other one goess backwards, hopefully someone will confirm this or set u straight as im not 100% sure.

    Cheers Tom

Maybe it's welded with one axle cut or the spline grinded down haha....when ours was like that it would make some funky noises when going around a corner...and obviously only had one wheel going.

But then you'd only have drive to one wheel and traction is hard to get lol...so prolly not that.

    hello.

Just wanna say that the 1 wheel spin in your commo is 100% normal and you will find that the only standard commodores that will rip up both wheels are ones with the LSD fitted.
