    Default Borg Warner wagon diff.

Hopefully within the next fortnight I can get my hands on a borg warner diff to suit a wagon. It will be going in a VK wagon once I clean it up.

As the VL wagon diffs are slighty wider, do u think I'd have any problems running 235/17's with lowered suspension. Not crazy low, just enuf to drop it an inch or 2.

I'll try and get hold of one out of a VK wags first, so if I can well I'll get that.

Would the rear section of the sedan borg warner tailshaft bolt up to the rear section of the wagon tailshaft and be the correct length?

Would VN rear discs bolt straight up? Is there anything which I'd need to get like another handbrake cable or brake lines or sumfin?

Would the diff have to go to a diff specialist to get new bearings pressed in, and basically put new bearings in the centre, on the pinion gear, and that seal thingo, or could a general mechanics workshop do it?

    Sry for all the questions.

A front section off a sedan and a rear off a wagon should work as long as it from the same type diff

I think vk-vl rear discs are the same as vn not sure. But its not that hard to convert drum to disc. I think there's a how to on another vl calais forum

Usually unless the mechanic got the tools and know how to do it. if its a single spinner you're better off getting an lsd centre from a wrecker or something put in and get rebuilt

VL wagons have panhard rods (which i dont think vk's have) so some other mounting could be differnt from vk to vl

I think they're wider by about 11-12mm. How do I check the offset of wheels? I got VT SS 17's if that's any help.

Nah I mean are the rear sections from sedans and wagons the same? I got the rear borg warner shaft for a sedan, which I had bolted up to the M76 front. But would the M76 front and borg warner sedan rear bolt up ok in a wagon? Put simply, would a sedan tailshaft fit a wagon?

Wicked, I might try and find it. We've got a VN we're wrecking, so I wanna use the disc rear end off of that to put on the borgy diff I get.

Got a visit from one of the guys which did my motor, and while he was here I asked him bout diffs, and he said they can do it all, so now just gotta get the gear 2gether and get them to put it all 2gether.

Really want an LSD now. Just so everytime I accelerate from a corner I should get traction instead of one wheel just spinning. And if I ever take off qwik I'd like to lauch instead of roachin it lol.

Now that I got my new job it shouldn't take to long to get everything 2gether.
