    Default New or Used Camshaft?

    G'day guys, I have very quik question for you's!! I own two VK's ones a everday car, my other one will be a cool street car. Now, my white VK car the motor has just poop it pants!, (black 202 carby, with auto).I have this 253 red with auto out of my VK. It needs a rebuild which we have done. Now I'm argueing with my ol' man He wants to put a used cam (308 2H) in with brand new cam bearings. But, I wnat to put a new cam in it. What do you reckon?

    As long as you run in the cam with new lifters or the old ones are in the same order as they came out.. because they all wear their own way, same with push rods too really..
    I was confused now I'm just not so sure!!

    Thanks for that. Yeah the motor has a standard bore, it's the same motor that the cam came out of to. I think i go out and buy a new cam, cause everything else is brand new. The carby and manifold is 2nd hand, but in good nick.

    As said above the lifters will have a distinct wear for the cam lobes, You would be better off running a new cam and lifters.
