I own an 84 vk with 94000k's on the clock and i just got my air cond dun accept my fan only works on number 4
it used to run on 2 and 3 but not any more
please help
well i have a VS and from what ive read it seems like something to do with the resistor under the wiper region....however check out Kopper69 blogs and stuff he seems switched on.
Assume you are talking about the blower fan inside the cabin and not the fan on the condensor.
As stated ^, typically if high speed is working an the others are not, the problem could be that the resistors have burnt out or the connections to these are suspect, what about no.1 speed? It could also be your switch which is causing the problem. Top speed is when the resistor block is bypassed and the fan gets full voltage, typically switched by a relay.
You will find the resistor block somwhere close to the actual squirrel cage on the aircon box. It should be accessible to visibly inspect the coils.
Otherwise, Depending on how easy it is to get to the switch or the resistor pack, test the voltages to see which is at fault, if you need some guidance here send me a pm.
