Hi all i was wondering if someone could tell how strong a VL V8 diff is i have a 10 bolt at the moment but it has 2.6 ratio mini spool which i cant get a roadworthy with i was thinking a vl diff because i am led to beleive parts are easy to get for them ie: lsd parts,Also if were to buy a drum brake diff how hard is to convert to disc brake as i have disc brake now?
If anyone else has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
the VL V8 diff are strong, a tad more stronger than a 10 Bolt. Only difference is that a Vl V8 diff is a few mm longer, 2 mm each side i think.
Also the VL V8 diff are disk brake factory. And they are 3.08:1 ratio.

thanks alot for your help theres just one thing though the diff i am looking at im told was out of a vl v8 wagon it has drum brakes an is a 3.45 ratio was there a differance when it is out of a wagon ?
Shocky mounts are different from a wagon diff to a sedan diff. SLENUT has pics coz he posted them in one of my threads.![]()

Well, if the VL wagon is factory V8, it would be disk brake standard and 3.08:1 ratio. Sounds like its had a swap in its life.
Anyway wagons have this for a shock mounting point.
This the one currently in my VB, with sedan mounting points welded onto it.
Can you tell the difference?
