Hi all.
A newby seeking help.
I have been having some problems with the Varijet fitted to my VC 3.3 ltr. Quite a few have suggested I swap the Varijet for the Weber 34ADM as fitted to the early Falcons. Has anyone been successful with this swap. I have seen the Weber in question and it seems a complicated beast. I am looking for any tricks and tips. Also anyone have any diagrams of the carby in question.

mate from what ive read the xf/xe's 34adm weber is definantly the carby to go for, but you will need an adaptor plate of course, there on ebay for bout $50. i am an absolute noob when it comes to the carby engines so i will be defiantly be takin some notes aswell, im hoping to be picking up a mint vc sl/e later this week and i already have this carby #1 on my to-do list. also read that the holley 350's r good but you should be able to pick a weber up farly cheap out of a wreck.
I would probably buy a complete rebuilt Weber with new gaskets and everything else so then you just bolt it on and it can go for ages without a problem. If you bought a used one you might end up with problems with it like the Varajet you have. The fuelmiser carb kits and car manuals have carb rebuild instructions but it can be a bit fiddly and I wouldn't recommend pulling a carb to bits unless being familiar on how they work.
