Hi,
Sorry for such a stupid question,
I am looking at buying a VH Wagon (202) but i want to throw in a 308, will the 308 bolt straight in with no modification?
Obviously there will be some modification needed but i more so mean for mounting the engine etc.. Will it bolt up with no problems?
Cheers
why dont you just buy a 308 one?
Cause my chances of finding a VH Wagon 308 are very slim! lol...
And the motor would need to come out to be rebuilt anyway.
i disagree there are a few old v8 wagons getten round. but if u want to chuck a 308 into a car that was built with a 202. u will need the correct engine mounts the currunt ones that u wld have with the 202 are not the right size.
Not to sure on the Kframe mate ya might have to change that and the brakes will need updating to disk allround and not sure about the gearbox mount but out side these issues there all bolt in parts anyway mate so it shouldent be to hard.
It will bolt up fine, but you'll need to change your transmission, tail shaft, brakes and diff.
change nothing using a trimatic
straight swap

Even in our sleep we happen to be right.

Seriously, try and find one with a 308 cos even though you want to recon the engine, at least it is already registered as a V8. If you buy a 202 wagon, and you do the conversion, you're either gonna have to get it re-licensed as a V8 or get in a lot of trouble if you're pulled over when they see a 308 sitting where a 202 should be!

i did this conversion in a vk 6 its not hard. just have all the parts in one go
