    Default Urgent: Engine Removal

    Hey,

Im trying to pull out my 202 and box but im having some troubles.
The engine bay is completly stripped and the engine is unbolted and can be lifted but how do i get the transmission away from the engine so i can take them out seperate.
The tranny is still fully bolted in the car and i can only see two big bolts and two little bolts holding a plate on at the bottom of where the tranny meets the engine. How exactly do i unbolt them from each other so i can pull the engine out.

    Its a VH with a 202 Trimatic.

    Cheers,
    Scott

There will be bolts up the top too, you might need a couple extension bars to get it and a universal joint in the extension or just a nice spanner and sit on the engine to reach them. I'm only guessing really but either of those gets them undone on most engines/boxes

Yeah there's 4 bolts around the top, 2 right up the top, and one each side around the middle. We've always removed the trans with the motor, so dunno how hard or easy it is to get to the bolts with everything still in the car.

is there any reason why u gota leave the box behind? its so much easier to just take out the box and engine as one...
the germans designed it, the aussies built it, the japs got it moving and the wogs got it dosing...
