    Default vk efi distributor problem

I need a new dizzy cap and dizzy, well i think its just the rotor button or something because its worn away, does this sound right? Its for a vk efi 6. i went to the wreakers to look for one but no luck. im guessing this means they arent cheap? how much are they worth? and the carby ones wouldnt be the same ha? anyone wrecking an efi 6?

Carby ones arnt the same. Have a look on ebay and you can pick up a EFI Dizzy for less then 50bux with postage. If its just the rotor button and cap these can be purchased brand new from repco, bursons etc.

To replace the rotor button, u just pull the cap off which is easilly done by flicking off the 2 clamps. Then u will see the rotor button in the middle which just pulls off. Both the dizzy cap and rotor button u should be able to buy new for under $30 for the pair.

I'm not sure if black EFI dizzy's are identical to blue HEI dizzy's, but I know the blue HEI dizzy will drop straight in and work on the EFI motor. Just remember when doing the timing, the EFI motor's have to be set at 12 degrees btdc, where as the blue motors are 6 degrees. Most dizzy's have a sticker on them so thought I'd let u know so when u do the timing don't go by the 6 degree sticker on the blue dizzy.

The EST carb rotors are different to the EFI and earlier electronic distributors. I have been there before and the carb one wouldn't fit, so just go to the shop and buy a rotor to suit a EFI VK. About $15.

Are you sure it is a red motor? .Your ride says it is a vk efi 3.3 ,so that would be a black motor(with red rocker cover).
