    Default VK running funny

hey guys, wondering if anyone can help me out here

im having a problem with my EFI 202, when i take off from idle, more so when its only just started but not always, it bogs down for a second or two, then the revs suddenly pick up and it takes off hard up the road. it seems like its being starved for fuel or something, i dont know.

i changed plugs, leads and fuel filter today, but it hasnt seemed to have made a difference..

    any other ideas??

If its only when driving and its auto id say its the Auto engaging. Its on its way out, my sister had a scorpion that did that, and became very dangerous as she was driving in melbourne daily and bogging down unpredictably is not wat you want when trying to beat traffic.

You should be able to feel if its the auto. It will rev up a bit then just thump and engage. If it is that take it to an auto specalist and get them to check it out. We only tossed the whole car cause parts are rare and expensive for a scorpion.

ah ok, well its not the auto then.
it still revs funny when its in park. its hard to explain, but when i put my foot on the accel, it wont rev like normal, its sluggish and wont take off, but it only lasts for a second or two before it suddenly revs hard and takes off

I originally posted in the blue/black dizzy section.
I am stumped by my VK.
It had the EST dizzy in it. It ran before I changed the carb from the varijet to a 350 holley.
I am stuck on trying to static time the engine. I am guessing I am either incompetent or just can't follow directions.

I have got the no. 1 piston coming up to TDC, the rotor is nearing the mark on the housing. Both valves are fully closed.
Now when I look at the mark on the harmonic balancer it is some distance from the longest timing mark. When I align the two up. The rotor is in the no. 5 position, and the piston has gone past TDC.

It doesn't matter how many times I do this, this always happens. I am quite frustrated to say the least.

Again, my engine worked fine before the swap, and the HEI and holley worked fine on the donor cars engine.

It's all good I asked my older brother the commo guru, and he suggested that the harmonic balancer had slipped. So I timed it according to TDC and now my car runs again.
Looks like I need a new harmonic balancer.
