hey everyone, i'm looking at a vc commodore L as a daily driver, its 1 owner(older couple), always garaged, immac condition and only 186,000 genuine kays, with full holden service history, blue 202, auto, not a drop of oil from what i can see. what would this be worth please? any help greatly appreciated in advance.
haven't got pics yet, maybe next week or the week after he's going to bring it in again, its a work collegues family freinds car, he wants $5,000, does that sound good for one in excellent condition with that many k's? or to much?
yeh, even if there in origanl condition and un molested, this still looks like it just came from the factory its that clean, still got all the orriginal sticker decalls on the engine, etc and they still look like new, still got the factory blue r/cover and still looks like new.
seen a couple of other vc's with 202's in average condition with 230-300,000 kays selling for around the 3-4k mark.
depends why you want it...
if its for a daily and you have a better car then I'd buy a car thats cheap to run even if it s aturd and run it into the ground if you want. I wouldnt buy a mint VC and then let it go to the dogs from the rigours of driving to work/shops every day.

as above, wouldnt buy it for a daily driver but would buy it as an investment as such, put it in the shed and keep it original, especially if it has all the original stickers etc.
yeh so this would be alot better as an investmant? could b worth something in the future?
as i'm thinking now as a possible collectable rather than a daily now from what alot of ppl r saying, i can get it for a bit cheaper than what he's asking, what could it be worth in the near future?
if kept in orriginal condition and stored in a shed and maybe gets driven every now and then to keep the kays low like to holden for a service or i'd change the oil myself as a mechanic every 6 months and start it every week, to get the oil flow through it and make sure it starts.
i know my missus will want me to sell it straight away as i can get it for a gwd price, spoke to the guy at my work 2day and he said he could get it for a better price as a mate, so id be able to sell it and make some money on it, or was thinking of keeping it for a bit and see what its worth in a couple of years, mayb take it to some shows aswell in original show n shine comps.
if you wanted a car thatll increase in value the 202 aint it... yeah there getting rarer but not for a 6... find a 5ltr SLE and keep that in a shed... they are a hot ass car!
sounds nice but thats pretty expensive...
aZk.
yeh, i'm starting to go of the idea, the more i talk to ppl the more clear that its propably not worth it, get to have a look at it again in a week or 2 when they get there new vehicle, so i'll have alook then and decide.
Hey mate, if you like the car then go for it! if your wanting it as an investment then its probably not for you, but if it is as clean as you say it is, then someone in the future might want to buy it to make it into a vc 5litre replica? anyway, if you like the car mate i would buy it!
I picked up my vk 202 for 3 grand and the reason i bought it was because of the condition. entirely standard, 124,000k's and like new inside out
As everyone is saying, if you like it, buy it. Just get him down as much as you can![]()
What fun is having a licence and following ALL the rules?
