Wrong, VBs never had VINs there. The only VIN on VBs is the model code on the build plate. He has PMed me with details, i'm sure he is happy on what i have told him.

Nope again. The body number on VBs is on the radiator support panel, towards the right hand headlight.

If there is numbers there, they aren't factory.

My VB had the body number under the light. When I cut the mudgaurds out for the VH flashers and headlights bingo looking at me. It got painted midnight blue along with the rest of the car when I resprayed it. The body tag may have been moved for what ever reason by anyone.

The car had been in NSW, imported to SA and had a Creative Car kit put on it with 179,000kms on the clock at the time. It was a silver VB, 253 4 speed sedan.

The 1 VC photo I have of the body tag is on the radiator support panel as you say.

Any VB/VC owners care to 'pop' a headlight and have a peep.

Well, after a quick 5 min job, here is whats under my VB. Before one says its been in a front end bingle, nope never has.

And this is dads VB project, again never had a front end bingle

And lastly dads second owner VB has had both headlights out, no numbers there either.
So 88greenVN, perhaps someone else put the numbers under the headlight in the VB you had. The body no. factory is pressed into the rad support, also pressed into the build plate.

This is standard fitments on VB-VH. Although some VHs have them on the left hand strut tower.

Hope this helps anyone else with a VB/VC/VH Commodores.
