    Default 2.78 diff behind a EFI 50ltr?

    G'day guys. I just brought a efi 5.0ltr, with auto, wiring, raditor,etc...
I was just wondering will the diff ratio 2.78 a non lsd, will be able to handle the power? And, does any know what fuel pump should i use? I want to use the same tank. Cheers

Diff ratio, depends on what diff it is, a 8 bolt Sals or its heavier, bigger 10 bolt sals.

Fuel pump, get one suitable for a VN-VS EFi V8.

Ok, a 10 bolt Sals should handle the power easy, thats if you don't do burnouts.

The ratio will affect which parts of the driveline get affected. The pinion gear will be under more duress in a 2.78 than a higher ratio. However the chances of busting an axle will be less.

great gears for cruising, will have long legs, bit slow on the take off but then the EFI engines probably got more grunt then the old engine so it should be sweet. also depends on transmission, a manual box would be harder on the driveline then an auto.

to cut a long story short, yes it will cope with the power.....for a short time, especially if your do burnouts etc with it. i'd suggest upgrading to a borgwarner BW78 diff from a VL, their stronger, have 4 spider center and have more options for upgrading i.e. factory LSD, minispool/spool, KAAZ LSD etc
