Gday im needing some advice on a straight gas conversion for my VH wagon 308 .........ok I have Twin Gas Research T/B's & B2 converter's set up from my previous car and also have a set of Twin APA tanks
What im wanting to do is find some advice on what setups others have done with there tank setups in wagon's im wanting to fit as much gas in it as I can and not lose to much space.
Also if anyone could recommend a desent lpg installer in the Knox area that will deal with the GRA
There really isn't alot you can do in the rear of commo wagons without chopping them up. Then you need to get engineered afterwards in alot of cases.
I did do one many years ago when I was at custom autogas, but it was a duel fuel with the original tank cut in half and a cylinder placed behind it with the floor cut out to suit.
You could run twin donut tanks, one in the car and one underneath but it still would look ugly under the car.
There are new style tanks that should sonn be on the market that can be almost any shape you want. They can be made as a flat square like the petrol tank but I wouldn't like to pay for one.
The neatest and easiest option would be to just run a donut in the spare wheel area and only carry your spare wheel on trips. Or if you don't mind a tank behind the seat you can go that way.
Did the twin tanks you have come out of a commo wagon???
Thanks for the reply blownba
So I would have to cut the wheel well out to have a desent capacity tank or tanks is that right? <<<< and a lot neater option and im not really worried about the spare. Would there be a normal type gas tank that would go in place of the fuel tank and also have one behind the rear seat could that be done as a cheeper way around it
The tanks i have where out of a falcon ute with a custom install it had the spare wheel well cut out and all bracing and tank holders welded in with APA A86 tanks 375mm x 860mm
I wouldnt mind going the custom and engineered option just need to keep the costs down
A donut tank in the spare wheel well and a tank behind the seat is by far the easiest option. And the cheapest way to get max capacity.
