T5 on a 253

just want to ask if an T5 ( VN manual Gearbox) will bolt straight on to a 253?

dont think so, you can get adapter kits, from CRS and Dellows.

Not 100% mate, but i THINK they are, i remember reading, that you can get conversion kits.

The 253 are an aussie bolt pattern block, the T5 all have a turbo bolt pattern bellhousing so, yep you need an adapter plate from either CRS or Dellow, but remember, this will make the shifter sit back to far, you need to make some mods around the gearbox hole.

There is also the option of plugging and re-drilling 2 holes at the back of the engine block. Dellow may do an alternate bell housing which also would be fine. I have never liked the adapter plates that fit between the block and existing bell housing though.

Full new belhousing from CRS or Dellow, did look a a similar thing before (turbo to aussie, just opposite) New belhousing was only going to be about $400 or so. can't quite remember.

Have a look at the CRS cat online and email for a quote. Or give em a call and they'll tell you exactly what needs to be done and the cost.
