What tailshaft for Vk 308 trimatic using salsbury

hey guys i need to find out what other tailshafts other then the v8 one will fit my vk 308 sedan . my car has a trimatic v8 auto and runs a v8 salsbury. its very hard to find a v8 tailshaft and ive been told that a vk 6 cyc one will fit but i need some other opions

Yes, a 6 cyl would fit but, due to the bigger yoke on the Sals, you need to find the bigger uni's to fit.
Have you priced a brand new tailshaft?

Where are you, got one here with new uni and centre bearing. BUT it will need to be rebalanced caus my brother inlaw (mechanic) pulled it apart to see how to change the centre bearing on mine.

G'Day mate, no idea, it just needs to be rebalanced and i think he left one circlip off, but that would be fixed when getting rebalaced. Im in sale (gippsland), but i possible may be able to send it back with my sister who lives in berwick, but im not sure if it will fit in her car, or if she will be willing to do it. But if your interested, price around how much it would cost to get balanced.

ans just to confirm is it a 6 cyc or 8 cyc tailshaft

8 cylinder, big green one, if you have the factory parts manual that will indicate its a V8 one. got it to put into my 6 caus of the new unis and centre bearing, but its to long.
