Default Air filter out the bonnet

ok dont flame me with this one lol

just been toying with the idea of sticking the air filter out the bonnet of the vh...only thing is its a 202 (will be worked in the near future) so it will be offset to the left...i think it could look cool or possibly very bad...any1 seen this before? and what u think?

just an idea...and obviously will go get a bonnet from the wreckers, not using my good 1.

I love the look of it out the bonnet...we did it to our burnout car. Had to use 3 air filters and extend the bolt so it was big enuf to poke through, but IMO it didn't look to bad.

When we first did it, an engine mount was stuffed, then after the hole was cut and everything was done, we put a new engine mount on and it was out about 10mm or sumfin haha....so yeah, make sure ur engine mounts are good b4 ya cut the hole. We were thrashin around out the salt flats and ya could see the air filter movin from side to side, it was getting worse and worse until it was touching the edges of the whole...then we fixed it haha.

    Here's some pics.

haha mad. yer i just put a weber on and with the filter i bought today it only just fits under the bonnet, so if i were to do it i'd just need a spacer and a tall filter.

what did u do to the 6 banger to make it do a skid that big?? planing on rebuilding mine soon.

Lol we did sweet FA, extractors, 173 head.....and the main ingredient, welded the diff and grinded the spline off the axle......it only did one wheelers, but it got into top gear and cruised along at 140k's on the pad......smoke ****in out everywhere.....and by the end of the day the exhaust was chuggin' out just as much smoke!

haha cool. yer when i rebuild the 202 im hoping for 200 hp at the fly (ecotec power) i dont think thats unreasonable. im estimating its got bout 100 hp now so double would be nice. going to spool the diff prob and all i want it to do is turn both tyres off the lights.

Well PEAKN6 roached twins when it wanted to (it's only a single spinner diff tho)...that was a EFI blue motor, mild cam, 4spd. I could rarely get it to do twins (altho it would fry 2nd doin siingles), but my bro worked out if he had a certain mate in the passenger seat the weight distribution would be enuf to make both wheels go, and it would peak 1st. We thought about welding the diff and puttin it on the burnout pad for the next comp, but decided not to worry bout it coz we'd be making more work for ourselves when it's time to put it back on the road.

yer i reckon i might put a stally in the auto, so shouldnt be too hard to fry some tyres...im not really into full on burnouts that much after i got caught lol but more a power skid off the line i like.
