    Default help needed gearbox not changing

    hope some one can help m20 gearbox in commodre

    wen the car is cold the gears are changing well, then temp
    gets to half way mark and having trouble changing and clunking into gear wen leaving the lights or normal take off

    any help would be great on advice checked tranny fluid prob over full a tad have not check vaccuum hose off the back of gearbox but i believe it is on there need help urgently and temp gauge going up to half way very quic kand then sitting there not getting any more hotter and driving fine but have the gear change problem

    you say its an m20 but you describe the gearbox like its an automatic?

    i'd say you have a trimatic auto as you mention a vacuum hose and tranny fluid bein over the full mark by a bit. If so change the fluid and filter (basic service) if you havent already, dirty fluid when hot wont have good hydraulic properties. I'm pretty sure anyway.

    Good advice Yobbo. Start with a trans service and see how it goes.

    yes its a trimatic gearbox was told by gearbox mechanic who does them its the oil pump? i am not sure got a quote for bloody 880 changeover stuff that lol i will start with a service of the gearbox and see how that goes let you know if it was better

    yeh u need a new clutch go the heavy duty 1 mate they last longer and are more from ur pocket i know but in the long run they last longer.

    Check ur vaccum hose to mate, might be lose, its steel and going to the manifold.

    Get the service done to it, it always helps!
