Trimatic Problems

Hi people i am having a problem when i put the shifter into (R,D,2,1) The car stalls there is no problems with vacume line i know about the carbon build up problem in the trimatics the gear box came out of a mates car and it ran fine in it, but it just stalls in mine and yes the stall converter is in right can any one help

carbon build up in a gearbox?? thats a new one?

what is the idle set at when in neutral? try adjusting the idle higher so when its put in gear it doesn't drop below like 800rpm

FYI the carbon build up happens in the start of the vacume line that connects to the intake manifold and goes down to the gearbox which makes the gear-change uncontrollable, I have already tried turning the idle up but it still stalls thanks anyway i think the stall converter might be stuffed and that will be a first for me has any one had a stuffed converter before.
