    Default vh fire!

haha funny story. today i was pulling out the aircon compressor. anyways like a tool i forgot to disconnect the battery.
i accidentally hit a spanner onto the back of the alternator and onto the engine bloke, scared the crap out of me! in a reaction i jumped back then realised what just happened leant back into the bay and before i could remove the spanner i was engulfed with a thick smoke then almost burnt by the flame.

i ran to the fire extinguisher conveniently placed under the rear seat and put it out quick smart...only damage were the wires from the alternator to the battery and the starter motor wire.

anyways weeks ago when i put the fire extinguisher in, i was practically told i was an idiot and it looked dumb where it was and i'd never need it! ha knew it would come in handy some time...the vh was saved lol

i used to have 1 in the boot but in an emergency id like to be as close to it as possible (thinking if it happened i'd be in the driver seat at the time) also cuz i dont have to fumble round with keys to open the boot, or if i dont have the keys on me etc.

Can hapen so quick extingisher payes for itself in 1 week Lucky or good planning

My dad had the battery explode last week when the spanner hit the ABS module. Lucky he has glasses - he had to run inside and wash of all the black acid off his face arms & Tshirt.

Bloody lucky, and good job on getting it out.
Mines in the boot, its out of the way, it looks neat as, and its their if i need it. I know if the engine was on fire i dont want to stay in the cabin if its serious id rather run to the boot, but then if its that serious im sure my extinguisher would be useless.

Another funny story i had my car on the charger but it was only a short term thing, was just seeing if it made my engine light go off caus my battery was pretty low. Anyway i put the big ass alligator clip on the battery but the battery still connect to the car. I got my mums partner to test the battery with the multi-meter. Hes paranoid about everything going wrong and is always mega cautious, anyway i tell him just to do, as he did it he must of knock the the alligator clip, its sprung off, went bang closing together gone up hit the bonnet and come flying down, made a fair bit of noise. Its was hilarious to watch his face and he kept jumping backwards for atleast 5 seconds after it happened, i was just killing my self laughing. Priceless moment i wish i had it on film.
