Finally some pic's of my VB

Sorry it took so long but now i have some.This is the car im going to restore to its former glory.It needs to be completely resprayed to it factory colour(racing green),inside the car needs some small work,rust needs removing(lucky for me rust isnt a big problem),aircon needs restoring(not used for a bloody long time) and brakes a bit need work.

Looks very straight for a VB - good base for a restor job! Looks to almost original but for the steering wheel.

other than a few rust spots,the body is really good.Finding a steering wheel for a VB SL/E in the right colour will test me a bit

Just get a standard VB/VC green steering wheel. Thats what the VB SL/Es had

Well that makes life a bit easier.But finding the right colour still may prove to be a problem yet as i havent seen to many green ones around

not a bad vb mate has exactly the same trim as mine only i dont have power windows .
i have the right wheel but its rooted, another hard part to find is the strip off the glovebox lid mines missing too.

I have all the factory wheels but one tyre is buggered,hence the berlina mag you can see on the front.Rare spares have the glovebox strip,you can go to their website and buy one.Havent seen a place that has the headlight wipers at all have ya.Mine are missing and everytime i got look for them,no1 has em.

i had a look at rarespares site and couldnt find the glovebox trim must have another look but as for the wipers there is some on ebay at the moment, i am missing one of the wiper heads off mine but there is some of them on ebay too which i am keeping my eye on lol.

Rare spares sell the headlight wiper arms and blades. Not that cheap either.

people keep saying rare spares has things like these but i just got there latest price list and no headlight wipers or dash trim peices are on it ,i am spewing cause not so long ago you could buy vb/c door skins but now they only have vk to vl.

180sc,i had a look at ur VB,very nice,i cant get over how clean the engine is.just wondering,take a look at the pic and cant any1 tell what the buttons are for

Those buttons are for the electric windows. The bigger round one locks out the rear windows, i think you push it in. The 2 smaller ones, i can't remember what they do.

how did you find them i searched for ages and couldnt find them!! lol. my appolagies.

that photo of the engine is very deceptive its acutally filthy pretty much just below the rocker covers is inch think in grease but not for long.

I looked and compared it to my engine, hence why i thought it was clean
big button for power windows,nice.
Any idea if the alarm is factory or not,i cant find anything about it,but ill keep looking

Might be a dealer fitted alarm.

180sc, on the rare spare website, on the left hand side, there is a part number area or a description area. I just typed in headlight wiper.

I would of thought the big black one is an immobliser, we had the exact same button in the same spot on a old car and it was the immobilser.

Nah, VBs never came with immobliser's. Any VB-VL Commodore with electric windoes had this button, as i said above, to cut out the rear door windows, bit like a child lock for windows.

Yeah i realised they didnt come with immobilisers, i thought it must of been for an after-market one. Im guessing the guy that installed the immobiliser on the Q just used one of those buttons for some reason, hmmmm.

If so (immobliser) its not the best place to put it,you can hardly say its "out of sight"

Racing green..nice colour. GMH term was 'mallachite green'....typcally had a gold pin stripe. Early VB's oof paint was too light..blistered in the sun. I beleive the only trim option was 'buckskin'...ie light bown.I have never seen a vc etc with this colour.

turns out i was wrong about the colour,research shows it was actually palaris white from factory.This sux coz im not to fond of white,tho i did own a white VL with the group A body kit and dark window tint which was a great looking car

are you still after those head light wiper arms? i have two but one is missing the head and i dont want to put them on my car also would the early volvo ones fit?
