VK occasionally losing power while driving

My VK had trouble with the original carby so I put a reco one in on advice of RACV Roadside. Drove fine for two weeks then all of a sudden one morning while driving to the train station it lost power ran ok again lost power ran ok again. Did this for a while then ran OK. On the way home that evening it ran OK for about 4 k then did the same thing and then was fine again. Anyone have an idea where the problem is?

Should that happen on a reco? Do you think they would exchange it?
