Default Restoring the brakes(after long time without use)

So here's the thing,my VB's brakes are crap use to not being used for a long time. When i look the top-up container thingy i see the fluid has gone pretty clear and there is dark **** on the bottom which im guessing is all through the brake lines, how do i clean it out and get the brakes working as normal again

I would take the master cylinder out tip out the crappy fluid then clean it out with a clean rag and fresh fluid then put it back in and fill with clean fluid. then bleed the entire system, starting at the caliper closest the master cylinder using appropriate size clear tubing and a large clear jar bleed until the fluid coming through the tube is clear and your done. Make sure the master cylinder doesn't run out of fluid during this process.
It would be a good idea to replace pads as well as they tend to deteirorate( i know icant spell lol) when the have been sitting in the weather for some time.I would also check your flexible lines for cracks and get someone to pump the peddle a bit while your looking at them to see if the buldge at all if so replace them and consider so braided one while your at it.

If your not sure of anything id recommend getting a Gregory's manual and reading on how to bleed and stuff in there.

how will he learn if he doesn't give it a go, just dont go to far on first run see if they work ok if you cant get it right it will cost ya a tow to a brake specialist for a bleed the rest is straight forward.
