vc alternator with a difference

heres a curly one for u all, i have aquired another vc to rebuild and noticed the alternator is not an internal reg, not thinking much of it till today while stuffing around under the dash i noticed a white box on the drivers side just above were the bonnet release is, this is only the second time i have ever seen one of these boxes, the first time was in another vc that also didn't have a visible voltage regulator, just wondering if this box is the regulator and how common was this in the vcs???

i know the thing ur on about but all the vks ive seen had one but not my vh, but i dunno what the alternator was like.

I think that white box above the bonnet release is for the dwell control of the wipers. The 2 VBs and my VC has it.

your spot on, it turns out to be the for the dwell control for the wipers
