Default VK Cowl Panel Replacement

I need to fix some fairly wide spread rust under the windscreen on the VK. Has anyone else done this?
The options ive looked at are:
1. Buy rarespares cowl panel and get a mate to help me weld it in.
2. Buy rarespares cowl panel and pay someone to weld it in.
3. Pay someone to fix the the existing panel, but I dont think this is the way to go as im sure more rust will just appear.

I can easily paint this myself, but would pay a pro to do it if their welding in a panel anyway.

Has anyone used a rarespares panel, how much would i need to take out to put a new panel in. Is it something i could do myself, I have a mate who has an industrial mig welder, so tools wont be a problem.

Cheers Tom

The one in my wagon was pretty bad, so I just used a broken off drill bit in the air drill and cleaned off all the rust, then used some rust converter, left it for a day, then fibreglassed over it. It was pretty hammered.

Here's some pics just after I applied the 2nd coat of rust converter. As u can see if was fairly bad.

Here's a cowl panel I chopped out of a wreck b4 we got rid of it, sold it to a guy on here. As u can see, then a fair few spot welds which need to be drilled out along the back, and the sides I just chopped out with an air hacksaw.
