Default Terrible Fuel Economy Weber 34ADM

Did the weber conversion on the VK a few weeks ago, put 40L in it and it lasted about 100km. ive fully rekitted it, relacing all he diaphrams cleaned the jets and so on, made sure i didn't touch any adjusments, i only would have touched the fuel/air mixture screw, but i made sure it went back in the same amount of turns. is there any other adjustments that need to be changed? ive also noticed that it sputters a little while cruising. I don't have a heavy foot either. should i just get it professionally tuned?

Why did you do a Weber 'conversion'? Was it to gain 'more power'? If so - increased power will mean increased fuel consumption. Less fuel means less power. get it professionaly tuned.

More power and less fuel is the reason for the weber.
That is some **** fuel economy, mine needs a tune and im getting about 18L/100Km, so i would guess yours might be more then a tune. What was it getting before you put that carby on? It may be the carby or it could be something else, more so I recon the carby has something wrong with it.

Well it was about the same fuel economy with the varajet, but that was a piece of ****. The weber runs alot better all over, no black smoke like the varajet use to cause, but still a little. i might just book it in for a good tune. on start up and when i get out of the car i can definetly smell fuel coming from the exhaust, and i noticed last night when i gave it a full dose, it just spat smoke out everywhere

i really dont know why everyone rave's about webbers??? are they really that good???...ive spoken to a few blokes in the industry that would recomend the varajet over anything else... the trouble of doing it, getting it setup, tuned etc outweighs the benifits...

like seriously were driving 20plus year old cars, with an engine designed in the stoneage, when it didnt matter 2 hoots if it drank 40liters to the 100, coz fuel was cheap..if ur that concerned about economy...buy a fiat punto....or a starfire......

the weber conversion isn't a hard conversion, and it does have huge benefits over a warn out varajet, the reason i know this is due to the fact i am running a weber on my vc, but definitly check your float level and also check your secondaries
