Anything up to VP should fit, Im pretty sure. Why you would want to use a HQ one is beyond me, it will take a heap of work to make it fit, be already wornm and its geometry would never be right for a VB.
Prosuming you already have the mounts, just get one off a sedan, or purchase one brand new. I wouldnt personelly put anything bigger then 27mm on. 30 mm have been knowing to do damage to the car.

Oh just realised your talking about rear sway bars. Anything up to VL should fit, im not sure about the VN/VP ones for the rear. But just use one suited to the car, dont go modding one.

Ok first, VB wagons never had any mounts for a rear bar so you will need an aftermarket kit that comes with brackets that attach to the Front of the upper control arm mounting and a U bolt arrangement that clamps a bracket over your diff housing or get a VL diff housing as if I remember rightly these were the first wagons with a rear bar but I could be wrong.
Wagons are really sensitive to rear bars because of the inertia caused by the extra weight over the back wheels.
On my VS wagon I have a 30mm front and an assortment of Holden rears and here is how they react on my car.
    14mm (stock) under steer.
    16mm understeer
18mm neutral (used the most and the best all round.)
19mm neutral to little oversteer at low speeds with definate oversteer at highway speeds. Good around town especially on tight curves but can make the car lurch at high speed.
20mm full on oversteer, great at low speeds but dangerous at high speeds where the tail wants to keep over taking the front.
Remember these comments are for my Wagon and I know that sedans don't react as much to the same changes.
All of my bars were obtained from wreckers for about $20 each.

cheers surfwagon.. by any chance can you remember what model commo you pulled the 20mm bar from?? im not too worried about the over steer, as it most likely will become a drift pig any way..

I believe the 19 and 20mm's came from one of the S.A. VB to VK V8 police cars (the yellow ones).
I collected mine over a couple of years about 10years back.
