Default vk fuserail/headlights mod.

After two years of owning my old gal(vk), i'm finally into a bit of cash and need to fix up some old problems. The fuse block has melted after years of blowing them till one day a fuse melted and didnt blow.

Upon much net surfing i came across the niche performance add for the fuserail, hastily sent off an email to whitch i got a reply of "none in stock, no time to make more" reply, so i'm quite dissapointed.

Now i have done a search and read up, so i know that replacing the rail isnt my only problem, i'll have to rewire the lights to be a switching circuit, remove the overwattage bulbs and clean out the lenses.

My issue atm though is where to find the fuse block, i've had a look at a couple of local wreckers and the VK ones all seem to suffer the same fate. Is there a similar / same rail section i can use off a later model commy or even another maker of the niche type rail that anyone has seen? I have not tried holden as yet but i very much doubt they will stock these for the VK due to age.

Any idea's or options guys?

You could use a Narva fuse rail....or 2. I've used one in my VK as I'm rewiring the car.

Here's a pic of them from the Narva book.

Or.......I bought one of those Niche fuse rails but decided not to use it. I bought one with the engine bay illumination addon. Cost me $101 (excluding postage)...but if u want it u can have it for $85 plus postage.....coz I've used the terminals which come with it, and also the fuses (they can be bought cheap at Repco or sumfin). If ur interested, I'll get a photo of it, and the bits it comes with.

Lol yeah they're great! When I first saw one I just had to have it. I thought I'd use it but yeah I've decided to use the Narva rails, only because I'm not using some of the car's original features which go through the fuse rail, and adding others, so it would of only been half wired up anyway so didn't see the point in using it. I can't believe the amount of gear I've bought for my car (I'm not good at saving, so I go shopping on payday haha). I have heaps of small bits and pieces, and a lot I've decided not to use lol.
