    Default royal edition vc commodore?

    hey all

    just found this vc for sale on ebay.states it is a royal edition? just out of does anyone know what a royal edition is? had a quick search on google but found no info

    Hmmm strange indeed. The Royal name is used for Export Holdens like in the SLE format or Caprice. Could have been a car made for NZ export but never sent anywhere.

    Holden released them when the Queen visted.4cyl mostly autos,but there was a few manuals.NSW cars had personal plates starting with ER.All had royal blue metalic paint with gold stripe.

    ok thats interesting stuff never herd of em.that one for sale on ebay was a 4banger manual royal blue in colour so seems to add up..does anyone know how many were made?
    the germans designed it, the aussies built it, the japs got it moving and the wogs got it dosing...

    The reason for that is because there a 4cyl commodore.....

    I've been looking at the Holden production history for many years now and still there is new stuff every month. This being one of them

    As to how many made. No idea at all. My guess would be very few in line with special production runs - manybe 100 or less.

    They never made many 4 banger Commodores in total. Very unpopluar combo and did not deliver the fuel savings needed to make them a success.

    i have a 4cyl royal edition vc it's a manual and i can't wait till i get my new 202 into it lol. Tha 4 cyl is so slow...

    Hmm the production of the 4 Cyl Commodores did not last long - But here we see yet another example still plugging away on the Aussie roads. Some must have been good'ns.

    Have you got a complete drive line to "drop in"?

    The cars in pretty good condition except for the engine.
    Some guy thrashed it before i got to it so the engine is really bad.
    I have to fill up the oil every week and i spend alot on fuel lol.
    I've got the engine, gearbox etc to pop into it.
    I had the choice to put a reconditioned starfire into it but i'd prefer the bigger motor

    hey nah i bought it off a mate for real cheap.
    I don't know much about the history only that a mate thrashed it before i saved it lol and another mate had it before him for a first car he learnt to drive in...
    I was gona put the reconditioned starfire in it but they are just a big hassle the 4cyl. I have to put my foot to the floor to get up hills and it revs way to much at only 100 km/h :P

    As already said above, he was going on the production from one factory. The manual ones came out of a different state (and probably the different interior aswell)

    hey mate i no where u comin from.my starfire powered wagoon.does about 7 grand at 100k..lol..it leaks oil like a sieve ,valve stem seals areee non exsistant the rear main has let go and the lifters are stuffed..BUT she's still goin strong.. so iam either goin to rebuild the starfire or go for a 6banga.

    lol yeh mine is the same.. i need to fill the oil every week, the motor sounds like a diesal truck or a lawn mower.. lol and the carby keeps getting clogged up.. we start tomorrow on the new 202 conversion... the starfire still runs.. but has lived out it's days i think :P
    and if i were u id go for the 6 banga.. a mate of mine has a torana with the starfire engine and the motor is immaculate. Runs like new but still sucks up the fuel and struggles getting up hills

    I have a 85 VK 4 cyl Royal in New Zealand, Its two tone white with silver base with a simular interior to the brock blue in it. Has the spitfire motor with only 145km on the clock and auto. It has a 5/100 stud pattern factory. I am dropping in a 308 and a new disk set up all round and will be sitting low on VT SS rims. Very hard to find any info on these cars as someone above has mentioned.
