Default V8 and 6 cyl brake boosters

Are V8 and 6 cyl VK brake boosters the same? Or is it just then master cylinder different? Can a 6 cylinder one fit into a VK V8? Thanks.

Its not 6/V8 thats the problem, its disc or drum brake is the difference. Disc brake boosters are a lot bigger in size, the master cylinder could be 15/16 or 1 inch.

im sure the vls continued the same brake system as the vb-k
    so
a v8/turbo(for vls) use the bigger booster and 1"master
6/ non turbos use standerd booster and 15/16" master

all are changeable but the v8s/turbos had the bigger booster for a reason and they run a 1" master. so best bet is to use the bigger booster

you will find that having 4 wheel disc doesnt mean you have the bigger booster as calais (6's NA) didnt have them

This is where your wrong. Disc brake boosters are bigger, due to having 2 diaphragms, while its drum brake cousin has only one diaphragm. The disc brake booster had to have more pressure, hence why its bigger.

Also with the master cylinder, not all turbo 6/V8 gained the 1" master, even in the VN-VS series as well. I even think Vts had 15/16 masters as well.

I recall quite a while ago hearing that you can use it but it doesn't have enough pressure to hold the caliper away from the rear discs and they rub due to this? or it was something like that hehe

as an aside the 6 cyl booster will most likely not clear tall rocker covers (if used) on a v8. the others points have been covered
