    Default TH700 instead of a TH400

I have a TH400 but im not a big fan of it. First gear is a bit too tall and with only 3 gears, 3000rpm to do 100kph is not nice. My car has boot loads more power than my bro's VN V6 but since he has a smaller 1st gear he gets me off the line. Since they are both Turbo Hydramatic transmissions will they fit up ok? Also will the TH700 take the power of a 350hp V8? How hard to fit one?

    Thanks guys

i think the 700 is shorter than the 400
as with all hydro's the power is not the problem but the torque.

the only differance is the overdrive, better for fuel.
as for the stall speed same setup for both boxes is posable.

My vb has a 355 injected motor with a th700. With a 3.45 rear end at 100kph it turns over at about 2300rpm. The th700 is a th350 with overdrive. Not as strong as the th400 but can still handle a reasonable amount of power. Depends on how you want to treat it.
