Question LSD diff to fit injected 5.0l

hey, i've just fitted an injected 5.0L into my VK calais.
i need an LSD diff with preferably 3.08:1 gears.
i want to just bolt it straight up without stuffing around.
will a VN-S bolt straight up or will i need a VK-L diff?

Bahhh This isnt really being asked again?

No a VN-S Diff has a wider track, then the VK diff. This can be corrected with rolling the gaurds and the correct off set and heap of dicking around.
The VK Calais will have 3.08 gears and some(not sure if all) came with LSD.

No Holden ever came out with a 9inch, its a Ford diff. Very commonly used on holdens, but requires abit of work to make it fit to.
Shortened (depending on which one), Mounts changed, Handbrake cable, and you will also have ford brakes and stud pattern on the rear, unless changer... more work.

get a standard 'large' Holden salisbury to fit a VK 308..most came with a 3.08 ratio
and get a LSD centre fitted (available for around $500 + fitting)

that way ..no mucking around with funny widths or having tyres hit gaurds
or having to change or mod tailshafts (as u do with VL/VN types or 9")

just dropped the mnmotor in today. it has a T700 auto so i had to pannel beat the driverside chassis rail a bit. i needed a new gearbok cross member to fit but the engine just bolted into the original mounts. that part wasnt hard. just neeed to swap the battery and airbox over and get it wired. its not all that hard. it cost roughly 6000 because it had an EFI 6 so i didnt need to run new fuel line either.

good luck with the conversion if you go ahead.

thanks for the help. i will keep my eyes peeled for an LSD diff to fit.

Just a thought.....is the salisbury in a V8 VK the same internally as a HQ - WB salisbury?

Might give you a cheaper option, just swap over the internals with a LSD center out of a ute.

Hopefully some knowledgable bugger on here will know

If both Salisburys are 10 bolt(oval cover), yes that have the same internals. But, that said 10 bolt Salisburys are very thin on ground these days.
