vh whats wrong!

i just bought a VH wagon 202 blue motor been doing a bit of thrashing but nothing excessive my issue is my car is reving high at low speeds and holding gears longer then normal. Whether or not this is a contributing factor my over flow tank was filling but i couldn't feel any water in the pipes themselves any help is appreciated

Overflow tank not important, not all systems will pressurise your water hoses.. not sure on VH in particular but I wouldn't worry about it.

lol i wouldnt worry to much about that i do that quite often just dont use a **** load of revs going into drive ive also done that too, some bad noises come after that

RAC towed me home didnt cost me anything but now im gonna have to spend cash getting things up and running already thinking bout selling it and getting a 4 cyl 100 bux on petrol in 4 days is bulk. plus i dont think this particular car is worth fixing

All systems are supposed to pressurise..it's the nature of the beast, if it's not pressurising, replace your radiator cap.

either way mr rac man says my trans is ****ed which is quite upsetting there appears to be rust in my radiator so theres another thing god i dont know anymore seems to be easier to just sell

Thats weak mate....really ****ing weak! I burned through so much money when I was younger, I'd buy a piece of ****, break it didn't want to put the effort or money into repairing then break the new piece of ****....vicious cycle.

Fix the ****ing thing mate.going to save yourself a lot of money in the long run.

Thats what I am doing right now with my VH. As for the petrol, well mine chugs it down a bit if I get stuck into the gas pedal, but on the same hand I just drove it 850km with one stop for petrol and I arrived at my destination with just over a 1/4 tank. Not bad from a 53liter tank.

Does nothing terrible, they're programmed not to engage first until they're at or below 60kph.

No it won't only if you drive like a knob. My VN is averaging 9.3L/100km over the last 400km. That's not all been gentle OR highway driving. I can keep a VN V6 under 10L/100km in town, you just have to be smart with how you drive.

No they aren't.. ever seen a VN s1? They don't even have a radiator cap. That's why I said I wasn't sure. Also certain other Holdens (5L rings a bell here but not 100% sure) don't pressurise the rad hoses enough to really feel it. Still squishy at full temp. Like I said though I'm not 100% sure on VHs but I do know that squishy rad hoses is not always a sign of a ****ed system.
