one of me mates mum is selling her VC commodore that is in rather good nick for $500. i haven't actually looked at it my self but from word of mouth its in good nick lol anyway it has headlight wipers....what modle did they come out on? like was it SLE? it has a 202 blue moter in it and is green also has around 150 000 on the clock and have been told the carby needs a looking at as when you take of quick from stand still it conks out?? It had a new power steering pump in it and 700 bucks of work done to the air con
anyway just wondering if this is a good deal? i have a VS but wanted to play with something older school haha
cheers
Sounds like a pretty good deal from what you describe.
Some people value these cars highly and come value them as scrap metal, it dependso n you.
Rust will be the biggest killer in anything, is it a 6 or 8? auto or manual?
The headlight wipers are rumoured to be rare. 700bux on the aircon may or maynot mean ****, as if u need to remove it, it will need to be re-gassed etc, but 700 bux should be some extensive work.
and lows K's to![]()
yeh ...its auto V6 pretty sure....might have a look at it but have too much crap as it is lol (not saying its crap though:P)
dunno wtf the headlight wipers are supposed to accomplish though haha they just look cool:P
Everyone believes that headlight wipers are a "SL/E only item" but, quite a few VB SL's have them, same for the VC SL and lastly VC Vacationer had them too. It was on the option list back then.
$500 for a car like this is a good price.
Cheers Damien"SL/ENUT" Smith, The SL/E Fanatic!
A lucky owner of 2 SL/E Commodores, a rare VB SL/E and a 2 tone VC SL/E. Just need a VH SL/E and have the set!
cheers...well im gonna look at it tomorrow just for the fun of it haha may be a good deal or may be crap! i know they dont have teh power of a VS etc but it would be ok for a runaround/fun car lol![]()
went and had a look and for its age its pretty clean. Only thing i saw wrong was the carpet will need to be replaced and a very smaal bit of rust on the lower part of the front passager door. Its a vacationer VC apparently 1983 model?? always thought 1983 was vh?? possibly she got it wrong lol. started up first kick (no pumping just one turn and it started) idles perfect but gonna go have another look tomorrow with me dad and see if we can take it for a drive.
has new air con compressor, rear shock, tires (bob jane ones but yeh lol) body is strait apart from 2 small dents on rear drivers side door and missing trolley strip on that door. Paint looks like it will posish up pretty dam good...no fading whatsoever. engine bay is pretty clean and has 152 000 original k's. Dont get me wrong like its not show room condition but close to it.
even comes with cd player and rear speakers haha
83 is VH, you are correct.
Check the build plate for the correct date/model.... but you should be able to tell by looking at it
Id be checking for rust under the window seals, pull them out a bit if you have to, caus its very common, if its clean under there and the boot it good, then your laughing.
Super Plush Pile carpet is about 220 from memory, and then the other stuff is cheaper.
Doors are easier enough to get to, all VB-VL? doors are the same.
we decided that i dont need another car. on a side note the car is good on the road and stops well
anyone in QLD wide bay area interested???
Yes I'm interested but i guess the car is long gone now
