Hi, I was just curious, because I heard some rumours just wanted to confirm.
Is it possible to fit a spool into a 10-bolt Sals even though it is an LSD?
Yes its possible, can be done with other diff's cant why the 10 bolt couldnt.
It would be a waste of time though, the LSD is a very good idea, you would be better grab a single spinner and molest that with a Spool, but its up to you. Theres more to it then that, have a search.... Im out, my caffeine has run out and 5hours sleep in 3 days has destroyed me.
Another idea I had is to swap diffs with a mate's 253 HX kingswood wagon. Would it be an easy swap? Reason is he has 3.66 gears or somethin like that and an open spinner so it would be perfect for a spool. Just need to know if his diff will bolt into mine and vice versa?
the early commodore V8's had the large salisbury 10bolt diff. the HZ will have the banjo diff. these are different and not a straight swap.
the salisbury only ever had a 2 spider LSD and these are fairly weak (unless you have the aftermarket 4 spider conversion which are now available in australia.
assuming your talking about a fullspool in which case you would remove the LSD centre and then fitthe spool in it's place
