are all 308s the same, do the manual and the autos have the trimatic patern?
will a bell housing for a HZ 308 bold onto the VK engine?
You are correct on the manuals/trimatics have the same pattern. The bellhousing off a HZ should fit the VK no worries.

A lucky owner of 2 SL/E Commodores, a rare VB SL/E and a 2 tone VC SL/E. Just need a VH SL/E and have the set!
thanks for that Damien
weren't some turbo pattern as well? at some point early inthe commodore range weren't the auto's trimatic pattern and manuals turbo pattern blocks?

All Holden 253 V8 engines are drilled and doweled with Trimatic bolt patterns as per the diagram on the right. Early carburettor Holden 308 engines were drilled and doweled with either Chevy (Turbo) or Holden (Trimatic) bolt patterns. From 1988 on when the 304 EFI engine was introduced the bolt pattern was standardised to the Chevy (Turbo) pattern.
