Dash Wiring & Dash Switches

My dash switches do not light up even with good globes. It seems the Symbols on the switches for what they do don't let any light through at all. I'm talking about the switches up near the clock. Anyone fixed this?

Also has anyone had any problems with there instrument cluster going wacko? I pulled it out as the globes were really dull. Now after i reinstalled it and put the headlights on the blinkers and high beam lights come on ( On the dash ) and the volts and oil pressure gauges turn off. I think that i may of stretched some of the wires in the connector that goes into the cluster but was wondering if anyone has had this problem before?

Fixed the Dash Wiring. It was a bad earth.

Anyone had any luck with the original switches on the dash? The globes all work but no light is coming through the panels on the switch.
