    Unhappy VK Auto GearBox Problem.

Blew the manual gearbox on my VK. Had a spare auto box which i put in.
Drove fine for a day. Now it has lost drive. Will move about 10ft before stopping??
Oil looks good, no leaks, no obvious faults etc??
Not an auto fan and am at a lose. Any ideas??

Here's a good way of checkin it out, just jack up the rear tyres of the ground
and leave it in neutral then put it in drive and check to see it the tyres start turning
If they turn then hit the accelerator slowly then increase as you go and listen for
any cracking/hissing sound coming from the gearbox or the camshaft

If this dont work then check the alignments inside the gearbox. If she jumps to hard
when slipping into drive then gears are either out of line or need to be degreased,
clean to shine and refill the transmission oil with the specified oil.
This prob has happened to mine, wrong transmission oil was used

If you blew the manual G/B then the shaft may be twisted and need replacing

The trans cooler lines might have been full of crap so it has blocked the filter inside the trans. The only way to check it is to remove the sump from the trans which will drop all your trans fluid out.

That would of been removed with the manual box....auto's use a flex plate instead of the flywheel.

are you sure its not the bands in the auto box.. i had trouble with the auto in my vk before i converted it. if you drive it with the 1,2,3 select it stretches the bands out till it will stop movin..
