Hey everyone, new guy around, in need of some helpful info.
I drive a VB powered by a monstrous 253........ well, not really. Anyway upon coming home I noticed steaming coolant spewing from the grille. On chrissy eve of all things too.
I still have my previous ride - an RB30 VL non turbo - in the backyard (albeit partially dismantled), so my question is;
Will a VL radiator be a relatively easy swap into a VB?
When I say 'relatively' I mean drilling/threading new holes into mounts etc? Weldings out, I just don't have that sort of equipment.
Provided that, fingers crossed, it does match up, is such a move wise for the long run?
Thanks to anyone who can help.
not a chance.
unless you wanna extend and modify radiator hoses, seeing as the inlet and outlets are in the wrong places
be better to put the whole RB30 in the VB...
why aren't you driving the VL anymore?![]()
Well how hard is it to tinker around with hoses?
As for the VL, engine's just becoming way too unreliable and I'm a bit over constantly changing afm's and cas's plus it blows smoke and guzzles on a good day.
That and it's rusting out like it's lived on a beach.
well, you can probably make it work, but a VL radiator is the last one I'd be using as its got in and out on the same side, which can result in overheating problems.
Oh well, just thought i'd throw the idea out as something I could do till suppliers reopen after the chrissy holidays. But hey, thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
