Default VK EFI - Rev Surge Problem

    Hey y'all,
Have an EFI VK and when I start it cold or give it a sharp boot (Even if cold or warm) the revs surge and eventually stalls if I don't put my foot on the throttle.

This only happen at idle and otherwise runs fine. It doesn't use more fuel than it should nor does it run hot.

I have changed all filters, air and fuel and checked over the inlet and exhaust and their doesn't seem to be any leaks.

It has no oil leaks, the front seal and harmonic balancer has just been changed and no other leaks are apparent (thought there might have been a crank case pressure prob).

    Any ideas???

Thaks to newtownbob, you were spot on mate. i went into repco and priced a new air flow sensor at $250 so I bought some contact cleaner, I thought a non-residual evaporative cleaner would be the shot and it worked a treat. The car no longer surges its revs, power is noticable better.
    Well done

My VK EFI 202 has the same problem as what yours has. I have to give it some throttle when I start her up, otherwise it'll stall. Probably the same reason?

    Power is noticeably better?
