will a m21 gearbox fit in a black 202???????
and is there a difference between triple carbs and triple webbers, or are they the same thing and willl they fit onto a black 202. sorry about the noob questions.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the M20's suited the 6's and 253's (2 different versions of the M20, one has a longer input shaft), and the M21 is for the 308's, and no it won't bolt up to a 202.
You can use triple webbers or triple SU's......that's all I know about that as well lol.

the difference is the input shaft lenght the 308 and 253 lenghts 200mm from the bellhousing flange, if the input shaft lenght is diff to this it is for a 6cylinder dont no the lenght dont have a six box but have 8cyl boxes.
the black 202 block is a 12port head so the manifold has to suit the head, su's and webbers arnt the same thing, if you want a reliable tune go the webbers, but they are not cheap

M21 will fit if an M20 fits, the input shafts are interchangeable.
M20's also came on some V8's
depends what has been done to the engine, i have a 202 in my speedway car with 12port head ported, stg4 cam starfire rods, high silicon pistons etc revs to 7200rpm and i have a 350holley on it and it sounds awesome, but its a preference but just make sure that you dont go to big with carby selection as you will effect performance, if anything it is prefered to go a bit smaller then larger.
M20 is 6yl, M21 is 8Cyl and M22 Is close ratio (Believe Early Brock)
M20 is in fact weaker than the M21/22, specifically the input shaft and lay shaft. I know this from speaking to 2 mates i know (Well 1 mate and anothers old man who have rebuilt these) and they said you wouldnt be able to fit the V8 box to a 6, cause the input is bigger, and because the Lay shafts are different you cant build like a hybrid (6 cyl input with 8 cyl Lay shaft for instance, cause the input never breaks, its always the lay shaft)
Believe me, an M21 wont hold up behind a decent 6 if it did fit, they break all the time.

Have physically bolted up M21's to 6cyl's and M20 to V8's.

hmmmmm so with the 202 black carby engine, without spending masiive amounts of money what are the best mods to go 4 on a 2-3 thousand budget.
bare in mind im only 17 so money is like pretty hard to get, i had to work my ass off for this cash lolz.
the 202 can produce good power but for how long you build a screamer and it will last 3months max if that
a good combo would be good rods(starfire) with arp rod bolts and peined, high silicon pistons (acl) counterweight crank which you have (but get rods pistons and crank balanced), cross drill the crank, straight cut gears, jp oil pump, that would build a good bottom end
Nice cam not to big say stage 2, springs etc to suit and a good head which flows good figures (cfm), extractors good exhaust and a good carby to suit (blue manifold with 350 holley)
