hey.
just doin the fuel pump on the VK (black 308), iv taken the old one out already and have gone to put the new 1 in but only seen on the instructions that ya should check the cam position to make sure its on "low" or sumthing 1st?
Has anyone done these before? and if so how important is the cam position ect and how do i check it..????
BAD COP!! NO DONUT!!
Hmm never heard of that but suppose it makes a bit of sense but i dont see how it'd really affect the pump.best way to check would to put some light through the timing cover hole and rotate it it when the lobe or whatever you call the things that drives the pump is furtherest away that would be the low point i assume.

The only reason it would say that is so when ya put the fuel pump in, the pump won't be on it's 'pump' stroke (if that's wat ya call it). Ya don't need to worry bout it, it's just when ya put it in on it's 'pump' stroke it could be a little tighter as the arm will be moving as ur doing the 2 bolts up.....just like when ya do rockers up and some of the valves open.
So yeah just chuck it in the hole and do up the bolts.![]()
